5-6 slices bread
2-3 tbsp Edible Oil
1 tsp mustard Oil
pinch Asafoetida
1 tsp Urad Dal
2 chopped Green chilies
1 tsp Grated ginger
5-6 curry leaves
1 large Onions
2 medium Tomatoes
as required Salt
1/2 tsp Red chili Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Garam masala powder
Handful Chopped Coriander leaves
2 tbsp juice Lemon

    In bread upma recipe, we use stale bread or fresh one if you want, and cut it into small pieces and later use it in the onion-tomato masala. I mostly prepare bread upma, when I have no clue of what I should cook, or left with no veggies in the kitchen. So, let's see how to make bread upma recipe.

    Bread upma is an easy to make a recipe for breakfast or something that you can try for your kid’s school tiffin. People in the south tends to make it more, and now it is famous almost everywhere in the country.

    Take 5-6 slices of bread and cut it into small pieces, do not worry about shape and size. And keep it aside.

    Now, in a pan or a kadhai, heat some oil up. Add in mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and urad dal. Mix everything for a while and 5 minutes later add chopped onion.

    Once onions are translucent, throw in the chopped tomatoes and mix well. Add some salt so that the tomatoes start to cook faster.
    Now, add all the other masalas into the kadhai and mix well. Pour some water if you need to. Do not burn the masala. Cook it for about five more minutes.

    Now add the chopped bread pieces and mix everything very well. Sprinkle some water here and mix again.

    Add some chopped coriander and squeeze a lemon.
