HARSHA’S CHOCOLATE WAFFLE RECIPE
Perfect chocolate waffles are so easy to make at home in just about 40 min. Learn how to make a good chocolate flavoured waffle for breakfast as it is healthy enough for the breakfast. All-purpose flour or whole wheat flour - 2 cups
Milk or vegan milk - 1 cup
Cocoa powder, unsweetened - 3 tbsp
Baking powder - 2 Tsp
Salt - ½ tsp
Powdered sugar - ½ cup
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Buttermilk ( optional ) - 2 cups. Buttermilk brings moisture to the batter
Olive oil - ½ cup. Mild flavoured olive oil would be best
Bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped - 6 oz
- Preheat the waffle iron and grease it with a little coconut oil.
- In a bowl, add the dry ingredients whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder and mix them thoroughly.
In another bowl, pour all the wet ingredients coconut oil, sweetener, vegan milk, food colour, and vanilla extract, and mix thoroughly using a whisk.
- Add dry mix to the wet mix and stir well until the batter is thick but flowing.
Scoop batter into each section of the waffle iron and level off evenly.
- Close the iron and cook it for around 3-4 minutes, until the waffle turns deep red and crisp on the outside. Use remaining batter for more waffles.
Serve the waffles hot with your favourite toppings of fruits and nuts and drizzle them with maple syrup, whipped cream, etc.
